Ayden was born on 26 April 2008.

  We drove over to Roseburg to see him and everything was great.  After we left, he was examined and found to have a heart murmer.   Ayden and his mom were flown to Dornbeckers Children Hospital / OHSU in Portland where they ran tests on his heart and found he had very rare forms of Aortic Atresia/Ventricular Septal Defect.

On Wednesday, April 30th, he had his first OPEN HEART surgery.

It has been a very emotional year for us with a few setbacks.  Ayden has had several surgeries and procedures done and has spent at least 2/3 of his life in the hospital.  He has returned home a few times, only to be rushed back to the hospital.

Ayden is home now, but when he is 4 or 5 years old, he will require at least one more OPEN HEART surgery.

As you can imagine his medical expenses (surgeries, lots of time intensive care, medications, life flight and ambulance rides to the hospital, etc.) have piled up and now total over $1,000,000.00 (1 million dollars).  Insurance has taken care of most of it, but has reached the insurance maximum limit.
